Wall passing combinations is a warm-up passing sequence that utilizes give and go (one-two) passing combinations.
Set Up
Set up four cones arranged in a diamond configuration as shown in the diagram. To start have one player at the cone at the top and one player at the cone at the bottom. The rest of the players are distributed evenly at the cones on either end. Large teams will benefit from having multiple grids so that players don’t have to wait in line as long.
How It Works
The passing combination goes as follows:
1. The first player in line passes out wide and then runs forward.
2. The wide player plays it back to the original passer and then runs through to the other side.
3. The original passer plays through to the through runner and takes his spot at the cone on the side.
4. The through runner plays it in to the first player on the other side and goes to the back of the line.
This sequence continues on the opposite side, playing in the opposite direction.
Coaching Points
Encourage players to play the short passes with one touch if they can. Players should communicate and call out names of the people they are passing to.
