Possession To Finish

Possession To Finish (6v3 to 2v1)

A great game to go from possessing the ball to advancing into a goal scoring position.

Set Up

Set up a rectangular grid just outside the 18 yard box. Create two teams of four with each team having one player in the 18 yard box and three players in the grid outside of the 18 yard box. Have three neutral players with one in the grid outside the 18 yard box and one on either end of the grid outside the 18 yard box.

How It Works

The soccer ball starts in the grid outside the 18 yard box. Once a team connects six passes in a row they can play a pass to their teammate in the 18 yard box who can try to score on goal. If a team connects six passes and makes a pass inside the 18 yard box they are also allowed to bring one additional player into the 18 yard box creating a 2v1 situation.

Coaching Points

When a team starts in the grid outside the 18 yard box they will have a numerical advantage because of the three neutral players. Make sure players are moving to use the space and communicating with one another.
